Description: Yoshis Island LOWEST SCORE Playthrough A friend of mine requested that I try this playthrough, and I told her, Why not? So, here it is... Objective: All stages must be completed with a score of 0, or in the case that 0 is not possible, said stage must be completed with the lowest score possible. This is actually harder than it sounds. Stage 5 6: Welcome to Cloud World Score: 0 Getting a zero in here takes lots of patience and determination, as this level can be very annoying. Well, its not as annoying as the skiing section of 5 3 or the end of the ghost lift section of 5 4, but this stage does have its frustrating points. In the autoscrolling section there are lots of red coins and baseball boys. This is a bad combination. There is one red coin in particular placed directly above one of the baseball boys that is hard to not pick up (its the one starting at 1:43 in the video; look at the far right side of the screen). The thing is, the baseball boys toss eggs at you, and if a red coin is in the path of a tossed egg, it is picked up by Yoshi. This particular baseball boy will almost always pick up this red coin if you just simply let him toss his first egg at you, forcing a restart (believe me, I had to restart a good 15 or so times because of him...). So what I did there was to tongue his egg as soon as he tossed it, so it wouldnt hit the red coin. The second section isnt exactly a piece of cake, either. There is only one Shyguy (the one holding the 1 UP) that can be used to knock the timer to zero at the end, and he must be carried to the end of the stage. While it may sound easy, its not. After the part with the two Piranha plants, there are three rows of coins, some of them being red and a flower at the end directly in the obvious hovering path. What we have to do here is to hover ABOVE the first set (and under the green pipe), then BELOW the second set. Hovering until Yoshi is almost off the bottom of the screen. But dont worry, it doesnt mean death as long as we hover to the right at the same time; this way, we can get the screen to scroll down a little to let Yoshi remain on the screen. Stage 5 7: Shifting Platforms Ahead Score: 0 Another easy level; however, the first part of the last section can be a little tricky. Careful with your jumping here, as you may run into an unsuspecting, but obvious red coin. To knock the timer to zero, we use the same strategy as in stage 4 7; take a bulletbill to the goal ring and spit him out, then run into him. Thankfully, we dont have to go as far, but you only get one shot at it.
