| Description: |
In September 2007, 30 newly displaced children from Mogadishu were given cameras to capture their day to day life in settlements.
When they were asked if they had a message to share with the rest of the world, they talked of food and shelters, of clothes and education. They dreamed of being doctors, teachers and pilots. They dreamed of peace.
Since the beginning of the year, some 325,000 Somalis have fled Mogadishus unrelenting violence, joining 400,000 protracted displaced. The lasting turmoil prevents another 800,000 Somalis from meeting their basic needs. |
