Windmill Isle 2
After Sonic goes through the tutorials in Apotos and applies what he knows in the first Windmill Isle stage, his journey to restore the continents begins with Windmill Isle 2. Its now the afternoon, I think, and the little guy who hangs out with Sonic in this game has gotten a name: Chip, after the Chocolate Chip Sundae Supreme. Go fig.
Sonic runs, dashes, leaps, and does other assorted stunts to get across the tiny village of Apotos, which, as you can see, truly lives up to its name of being a quaint and little place to live.
Theres really almost no difficulty in this stage at all. I assume its also to get you acquainted with the game mechanics, which can be a bit user unfriendly, even for a Sonic game. The real challenge is finishing this stage within the target time limit of 3 minutes 50 seconds, making Windmill Isle 2 one of the longer running stages in the game.
The real time eater of Apotos Village is the Interceptor, the big robot who appears at the end and puts Sonics Quick Step ability to the test, who can use up a full 1 minute 20 seconds of that time. He takes five hits to defeat (for the time being), though hell eventually destroy himself if you take too long by hitting himself on the archway at the end. |
