Cinema lovers must be eagerly waiting for Friday to ease their troubles, and witness the larger than life picture of Indian films. We at ZoOm give you the overview of this weeks releases. They are:
Daddy Cool: Daddy Cool is releasing on 28th August. The film is about the funeral of a Goan named Douglas Lazarus, and the proceedings is not at all demure the coffin makers deliver the wrong body; the dead mans elder son Steven (Suniel Shetty) attempts at an eulogy which includes the description of the rivers in Goa; the younger son Brian (Ashish Chowdhry) who isnt willing to take care of his widowed mother for the sake if his pet dogs; an insecure Nancy (Aarti Chhabria) who is Stevens wife; a proud Mrs Lazarus (Suhasini Mulay) who doesnt consider herself widowed yet. Then there is a doped and nervous Michael (Aftab Shivdasani); expressing his love for Maria (Tulip Joshi); her junkie brother (Chunky Pandey); a knife wielding suspicious Jenny (Kim Sharma) who finds her husband Carlos (Jaaved Jaaffrey) pleading forgiveness from hot model Ayesha (Sophie Choudry).
Kisaan: The story is a saga of a powerful father and his two sons. It presents an honest view of the rugged life and goals of a simple farming family against the lush green agricultural lands of modern day Punjab. The story begins with a Kisaan, Dayal Singh (Jackie Shroff), and a widower whos immersed in the legacy of his ancestral lands as he raises two very different sons. Aman (Arbaaz Khan) is formally schooled to become a city based lawyer while Jigar (Sohail Khan) through lack of funds is not able to continue his schooling but takes up farming and stays by his fathers side.
Quickgun Murgan: Quick Gun Murugun is an Unlikely Superhero (played by Rajendra Prasad) a South Indian Tamil cowboy whose duty is to protect the world against arch villain restaurant owner, Rice Plate Reddy, who wants to create the ultimate non veg dosa! The movie revolves around adventures of Quick Gun Murugun along with his love to be Mango Dolly (played by Rambha) and Locket Girl (played by Anu Menon). When faced with the grave problem, Quick Gun Murugun enters into an epic battle of that spans time and space, from a small South Indian village to an Indian heaven and then finally to a cosmopolitan Mumbai across 25 years. The Film spoofs entire Andhra Film Industry.

Love Khichdi: Vir Pratap Singh is a bachelor from a small town working as a sous chef in a five star hotel in Mumbai. A handsome, charming, macho idiot who flirts with, yearns for and lusts after any woman who is friendly but seems unattainable. From his man hating maid, whom he ogles as she wipes his floor to the man eating call center owner who could wipe the floor with him...from the too tall model to the too young pretty pest down the corridor...from the Bong Beauty with Brains and Books to the born flirt next door Vir is suckered by them all. Ego, confusion, commitment... its so difficult to stop flattering and lying TO HIMSELF! The sometimes smart and sometimes silly observations of Virs kitchen gang of cooks headed by the wise Krishnan punctuate his hilarious passage into manhood.....
Y.M.I: Y.M.I or Yeh Mera India peeks into the lives of a 12 people from diverse backgrounds and weaves together multiple stories which include racial discrimination, communal bias, immigrant issues, class and caste issues etc with all the events unfolding in a single day in the city of Mumbai where his characters are based. Anupam Kher, Seema Biswas, Rajpal Yadav, Atul Kulkarni and Vijay Raaz are the most impressive of the lot. |
