Well, here it is.The first time we ever really saw Jennifer Holliday on a Broadway stage and got blown away by that voice.....that voice.Here she is at The Imperial Theater in, Id say, early 1982 along with the original cast( Sheryl Lee Ralph;Lortta Devine....) It was the same Year and Theater I saw the show, and it was nothing short of life altering. I have always said that after seeing Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls that year, I knew there was a God.After viewing these selections(Im putting out a few of them) youll quickly see why these performances made history and solidified Jennifer Holliday as the Queen of Broadway..The video is a little shakey and is amatuer, but I ran the audio through my studio, and enhanced it quite a bit.So hopefully you can lose yourself and enjoy this show with this sophisticated Broadway audience.
