This bridge is the most efficient place to gain the needed AP. You are guaranteed at least 2 AP on average per battle, and almost everything can be killed in 1 shot. Another place to gain the AP is after the Anacondaur fight on the next screen. Here you can fight random battles with 1 or 2 Anacondaurs, who give you 4 AP a piece. There are 2 reasons I dont do that, though: They are pretty rare. They are much harder to kill than the soldiers on the bridge. So in the long run you will not save any time with them.
