London: 9 June 2009 A trip south of the river today to The Old Vic where Kevin Spacey and co are putting on a couple of classic plays with an all star cast. It is press day. So I headed down mid morning in the chill air to see what I could see. The usual crowd of autograph seekers confirmed my suspicion this would be a good day. Two performances, so twice the chance. The evening performance was less star studded than the afternoon but there was a tube strike to complicate travel for playgoers. Sam Mendes is directing both plays and he was very good with the fans, signing, posing and chatting. Ethan Hawke too. Loads of time with fans.
