President Bush will deliver the commencement address at the Air Force Academy today. The President is expected to tell graduates that building democracys in Iraq and Afghanistan is just as important as it was in Germany and Japan after World War Two. Its not even June, and its already the deadliest year for tornadoes in a decade. The National Weather Service says there have been 12 hundred tornadoes, killing 110 people. The record for the most tornadoes was one thousand, eight hundred and 17 back in 2004. Chinese officials have now evacuated 160 thousand people downstream from an unstable earthquake created dam, which is threatening to collapse. Officials say if that does happen, there could be catastrophic flooding. The government has also upped the death toll from the earthquake to more than 68 thousand. Amazingly, no one was injured in this plane crash in Germany. The plane skidded off the runway, shortly after kicking off the Berlin air show. The plane eventually did come to a stop in a cloud of smoke. The pilot did manage to get out unaided and not injured. The cause is under investigation.___ ___, The Associated Press with AP NewsMinute. (****END****) VOICE: PRODUCER: VIDEO APPROVAL: Station: Affiliation: Location: Contact: Number: E Mail: |
